I'm a data scientist who builds machine learning systems that make decisions: where ad dollars go, which agent picks up a call, which variant wins a test. I care about making those systems fast, measurable, and easy to trust.

Now Building a rules-based trading agent with hard risk limits, a backtester, and a dashboard to watch it.

About

I started out as a mechanical engineer at Cornell, then spent a few years at Carrier moving from chillers and finite element analysis toward software and machine learning. That pull led me to a master's in computer science at Georgia Tech, focused on machine learning. Today I'm a data scientist at Red Ventures, working on budget optimization, real-time sentiment models, and bandit-based decisioning. I'm also an instructional associate for Georgia Tech's graduate Machine Learning and NLP courses.

I grew up in Greensboro and now live in Charlotte with two cats and a dog. Away from the keyboard I'm usually on a tennis court, at the gym, or outdoors.

Experience

  1. 2024 – Present

    Data Scientist · Red Ventures

Decisioning systems for growth: a multi-platform paid-media budget optimizer, real-time call sentiment that feeds smarter call routing, and logging and dashboards that made the core bandit model auditable.

  2. 2024 – Present

    Instructional Associate · Georgia Tech

Teaching staff for graduate Machine Learning (CS 7641) and Natural Language Processing (CS 7650) in the online master's program.

  3. 2023 – 2024

    Systems Engineer, AI/ML · Carrier

Hybrid physics and machine learning fault detection for residential HVAC compressors, and time-series forecasting of refrigeration unit health.

  4. 2021 – 2023

Associate Engineer, Rotational Leadership Program · Carrier

Rotations through software engineering, mechanical design and analysis, and model-based development, including neural-network surrogate models for a new chiller line.
